Summer Cookout Series

??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Summertime and the living is easy, right? To get in the swing of summer, Chef Bryan Cates has invited three local chefs to take part in a monthly cookout series at Mixson Bath & Racquet Club. The only requirement? The food should be casual, something the chef would cook at home for friends, and perfect for dining al fresco.

On Thursday, June 11, Cates and Chef Russ Moore of Slightly North of Broad will set up a couple of grills outside and prepare one dish each for three courses of appetizer, entree, and dessert. “It will be super casual,” says Cates. “We’ll have stations set up and we’ll present the food in stages. Each course will have a local, seasonal grilled component.”

A new local brewery Twisted Cypress Brewing will provide beers to pair with the dinner.

Jacques Larson of the Obstinate Daughter and Wild Olive will join the fun on Thursday, July 9 and Graham Dailey of Peninsula Grill on Thursday, Aug. 13. All three guest chefs are members of the Mixson Bath & Racquet Club. For more information on the club, visit mixsonbrc.com.

A portion of each ticket to the dinner series will benefit Metanoia’s youth leadership program, which identifies at-risk youth with leadership potential and teaches them the skills necessary to succeed. For more information visit pushingforward.org
